
HP state BJP President Rajiv Bindal, accompanied by former CM Jai Ram Thakur, while talking to media person at Mandi on Saturday said, “During its 40-month tenure, the Congress government in the state has done nothing except causing harassment to people of the state; it is taking decisions which are at times ridiculous, at times illegal and many times completely anti-people.”
He accused, “ The Congress government is operating with scant regard for democratic values and has tried its best to postpone Panchayat elections in the state and even approached the Supreme Court by spending huge public money for hiring lawyers, now it is hatching a conspiracy to manipulate the electoral process”, he added.
Bindal said, “Granting authority to District Magistrates to alter five percent reservation quota runs contrary to the provisions of the Constitution and opens the door to large-scale manipulation of the electoral roster to manipulate the election.”
He charged the Congress government for “running a crony government as important decisions are being made by cronies for their vested interests.”
The BJP President accused the state government for allegedly stopping public-welfare schemes initiated by the previous Jai Ram government with malice causing immense pain to the general public and BJP has decided to start a campaign against the state government.
Dr. Bindal said, “BJP’s two-day State Executive Committee meeting is being held in Mandi on April 6 in which office-bearers of the party will participate and on April 7. National Vice President of the party, Soudan Singh, General Secretary Tarun Chugh, state In-charge Shrikant Sharma, and Co-incharge Sanjay Tandon will be present as special guests at this meeting.
He said, “BJP has been working continuously for the past six months to strengthen its organizational structure down to the booth level and the party is fully in election mode now” .
