The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Shimla has issued a yellow alert of heavy rain during the next 24 hours for all twelve districts of Himachal Pradesh.

As per IMD bulletin the southwest monsoon has remained active over Himachal Pradesh in the last 24 hours, with several areas experiencing heavy to very heavy rainfall in the state. Heavy rain was reported from several areas of Mandi, Kangra, Chamba, Solan and Shimla districts while moderate rain was recorded in other districts of the state.

 According to IMD “ Spell of monsoon is going to weaken considerably after August 23 throughout  the state, rain  is expected to recede  from Thursday onwards  although moderate to heavy rain may continue in parts of Kullu, Mandi, Kangra, Una and Bilaspur districts.”
