Four lane affected people have decided to stage protests on 5th September at different places to highlight indifference of the state government towards their long pending demands including implementation of Land Acquisition and Compensation Act 2013.
President of Bhumi Adhigrahan Prabhavit Manch Beli Ram Kaundal and convener Joginder Walia said, “For the last five years four lane affected people have been raising the issue of implementation of Land Compensation Act 2013 but neither has the state government implemented the Act nor has the government applied factor 4 for giving compensation for land acquired for the four lane projects.”
They said, “The state government has been making excuses and constituted a committee to address our demands but nothing concrete has been done and factor 4 has not been applied despite the Central Government agreeing for its implementation.”
Prashant Mohan one of the members of the Manch said , “ The administration is acting in a most arbitrary manner and giving just one month’s time for evacuating the premises despite the fact the people are leaving their shops, houses and hearths to settle elsewhere and urged the administration to be considerate and accommodative .”
The affected families accused , “The state government is trying to cheat them by lowering circle rates of their prime land and adopting a pick and choose policy to give compensation and acquire land.”
