The Himachal Pradesh government has decided to open borders of the state for all people including tourists coming to the state and withdraw the current e-registration system continuing here since March 24, 2020, with immediate effect. The state government had restricted entry to the state after imposition of lockdown in the wake of COVID- 19 pandemic.
The decision has been taken by the state cabinet meeting held on Tuesday and chaired by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur to restore complete economic activity as per direction of the Central government. The government has decided to open beer bars in the state with immediate effect.
Now people and tourists coming to Himachal Pradesh would not be required to undergo quarantine, produce COVID negative reports and make five days advance booking in hotels as required earlier.
The state cabinet has also decided to change the norms for discharging COVID patients after seven days for asymptomatic patients instead of ten days after the tests as ICMR norms. The government has also decided to designate five makeshift hospitals at five places i.e. Shimla, Tanda, Nalagrah, Una and Nahan and equip these with facilities for managing severe and moderate patients.
The state government has also approved the new policy for nursing colleges and made it mandatory to have 100 bedded hospitals from 2021 – 22 academic sessions, introduce BSc nursing course and close GNM nursing course, besides changing few other norms for opening nursing colleges.
