Himachal Pradesh Cabinet has decided to increase the bus fare in the state by 25 percent per kilometer from the existing fare and raise the minimum fare from Rs 5 to 7 to meet the financial crunch created due to COVID- 19.
The Cabinet gave its nod to withdraw free travel facilities to MPs and MLAs in HRTC buses within and outside the State, however this facility would continue for all former MLAs and MPs.
In a meeting held at Shimla chaired by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur the Cabinet has decided to replace 38 old ambulances with National Ambulance Service – 108, which have become the lifeline of the health system in the state.
The Industries Department also made a presentation on ‘Ease of doing Business’ before the Cabinet after which the Cabinet stressed on development of an online system for forty six services to facilitate the entrepreneurs and improve the ease of doing business. The Cabinet directed the department to move on all points of reforms in a time bound manner.
The Information and Technology Department also presented hardware for e-Cabinet and the Cabinet authorized the department to go ahead for purchase of sixteen workstations and secure a third party security audit.
The Cabinet gave its approval to provide government land measuring 0-37-54 hectare on lease to HPSEB Ltd. for construction of 33/11 KV 2X3.15 MVA SubStation Ukhali in district Hamirpur at Rs.11, 26,200 as lump sum and Rs. one per month lease for 99 years, thereafter.
It also gave its nod to provide government land measuring eight marala at a rate of 20 percent of the present circle rate i.e. Rs.34, 008 as lump sum and Rs. one per month lease for 99 years at Bamsan in Hamirpur district in favour of HPSEB Ltd. for construction of office of Junior Engineer and a complaint room of Tikri Section.
The Cabinet gave its approval to convert 34 EGS instructors fulfilling eligibility for such conversion into Gramin Vidya Upasaks.
It decided to open new government primary school at Lower Tharedi in Gram Panchayat Bakan in Bharmour Assembly constituency, fill up three posts of Junior Office Assistant (IT) in the Prosecution Department on contract basis, and convert 771 vacant posts in the cadre of Assistant Librarians in Education Department into Junior Office Assistant (Library) for smooth functioning of libraries.
The Cabinet decided to take over Lala Jagat Narain Himotkarsh Kanya Mahavidyalaya Kotla Khurd in Una district along and continue services of eligible e teaching and non teaching staff of the college.
