Former Chief Minister and Leader of the Opposition Jai Ram Thakur has demanded the restoration of treatment facilities through the HIM CARE scheme with immediate effect.
In a statement , Thakur said , “ People are coming to hospitals for treatment and are going back without treatment for failing to bear the hospital expenses, depriving them of free treatment facilities in government hospitals, as officials in the hospitals are refusing to entertain the HIM CARE cards .”
He said, “I have been getting many calls from poor patients daily in this regard as they are finding it difficult to bear the hospital expenses.”
Thakur questioned , “ The state government is saying the HIM CARE scheme has not been closed; then why is it not working in government hospitals? Why are people not getting treatment under the scheme and patients suffering from serious diseases?
He charged , “ The state government is increasing the fee of every health facility, like X-ray and ECG charges, etc., and even increased the fee to get birth certificates manifold, but health facilities are not improving .”
