Film actress Kananga Ranaut filed her nomination papers for the Mandi parliament constituency on Tuesday as BJP candidate.
Before filing her nomination papers at DC office Mandi, she also held a road show in an open jeep accompanied by her mother, former CM Jai Ram Thakur and state BJP president Rajiv Bindal .
Later, addressing a rally at Seri Manch, lauding the initiatives taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, she said, “Women are excelling in every field now, going to space, they are developing skills and in 2029, 33 percent women candidates will be elected to Assemblies after reservation for women.”
She said, “Women have been made self-reliant under the Modi government and there is a perceptible change in thinking today; my selection as BJP candidate for Mandi parliament seat is a reflection of this thinking,” she added.
She also talked about several other initiatives taken by the Modi government. And accused the Congress led state government for closing down many projects initiated by the previous BJP government like Shiv Dham, Airport in Balh etc and assured to work for development of Mandi constituency.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, former CM jai Ram Thakur said, “I am not a flop director but it’s CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, whose government has flopped in the last 15 months and Sukh ki Sarkar has turned into Dukh Ki Sarkar.”
Criticizing Congress candidate Vikrmaditya Singh, he said, “Today he is giving vision for development of the constituency but it would have been better if his family members had adopted this vision as they remained MP from here for long .”
State BJP president Rajiv Bindal, BJP national vice president Saudan Singh among others also addressed the gathering.
