Himachal Pradesh government has decided to introduce CBSE pattern in 100 government senior secondary schools from next session to enhance education standard and prepare students for meeting the future challenges.

A government  spokesman said , “ The initiative will promote healthy competition between schools affiliated with the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education and those under CBS, it will encourage both students and teachers to strive for improved performance. “

“ At least one CBSE school will be opened in every Assembly constituency,  100 schools will be affiliated with the CBSE from the next session and Day-Boarding CBSE schools would also be opened,” he stated .

The spokesperson said,” The decision has been taken as the CBSE curriculum has a national benchmark and is widely recognized; and it will help students preparing to appear in national level competitive exams.”

To make the CBSE schools functional, a separate Sub-Cadre will be created and serving teachers will be given the option to join the CBSE schools and selection of Principals, teachers and non-teaching staff will be made on merit.
