PWD Minister and Congress candidate for Mandi parliamentary constituency, Vikramaditya Singh has accused majority of the national media for its partisan reporting by promoting ruling BJP and ignoring the opposition parties; they have every right to criticize but good work should also be appreciated, he said .

Talking to media persons at Mandi on Monday, he also accused “BJP candidate – film actress Kangana Ranaut for using “Tapori”(indecent) language during the election campaign and dishonoring our national leaders like Pandit Jawaharlal Lal Nehru, Mahatma Gandhi, Subhash Chander Bose and our martyrs Shaheed Bhagat Singh and others by distorting history of our freedom struggle,  and advised her to take tuition in history.” 

He said, “After getting a BJP ticket to contest Mandi parliament seat she is claiming herself as  Mandi ki Beti but where was she when people of Mandi, Kullu and other areas needed support during the worst monsoon fury?”

The Congress candidate said, “The anti – Hindu card of BJP  will not click here as Congress governments have always tried to protect and promote Sanatan Dharam and Dev Sanskirti in the state; Virbhdara Singh government was the first state government in India to pass legislation against religious conversions, constructed Dev Sadan at Kullu and Mandi, besides renovating ancient temples, “he added.

Talking about his vision for development for Mandi parliamentary constituency, Singh while narrating several important projects built during the Congress regime also promised to work for including Mandi in Smart City project, work for building Bhubhu Jot Tunnel connecting Joginder Nagar with Kullu , beautification of Mandi town etc, he also challenged Kangana Ranaut to have a discussion with him about development vision at an open forum.” 

Replying to a question he said, “We have not received any funds from the Central government specifically for natural disaster and have properly utilized funds in a transparent manner.”

Senior Congress leader Kaul Singh Thakur was also present in the press conference.
