A JCB operator died while digging a hillock on Mandi – Kullu National Highway at six mile near Mandi at about 1 pm on Tuesday.
A police source said, “The deceased Phiroj Khan alias Saleem, a resident of village Jarli under Sadar Tehsil of Mandi district, died on the spot.”
The police said, “The JCB was carrying digging work for widening of the National Highway when heavy boulders falling from above hit the machines leading to death of the operator.”
The police have registered a case against the contractor of KMC company Rajesh alias Rocky under section 336, 304 A of IPC in Sadar Police Station Mandi in the accident .
