The Congress activists held a protest demonstration at district level throughout state in front of Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) and State Bank of India (SBI) offices on Monday on the call of All India Congress Committee (AICC), demanding probe in the alleged irregularities committed by Adani Group in its share price manipulation as exposed in Hindenburg report.
The demonstration at Mandi was led by former ministers Kaul Singh Thakur and Prakash Chadhary before the LIC office.
Kaul Singh Thakur said, “LIC and SBI have invested thousands of crore in Adani Group companies and continued to invest even after the Hindenburg exposure, putting the money of Lakhs of investors at risk.”
He said, “The Indian share market is in turmoil after the Adani exposure leading to fall in its share prices making the investors jittery.”
District Congress Committee president Prakash Chaudhary and former MLA Sohan Lal Thakur among others were present on the occasion.
The Congress leaders also submitted a memorandum to the President of India through DC Mandi demanding a probe into the Adani exposure by the Joint Parliamentary Committee under the supervision of the Chief Justice of India.
