Former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has accused the Congress government for the serious financial crisis in Himachal Pradesh “comparing the present situation with that of Pakistan, where salaries of employees are not paid in time and deferred.”
Talking to media persons at Mandi on Wednesday after conclusion of two day BJP state executive meeting, he said, “The government has been compelled to withhold the salaries not only of officials and employees but also of elected public representatives, which is unprecedented and shameful in the history of the state due to its flawed policy of the Sukhu government.”
Thakur alleged , “ Several scandals have come to fore during the current regime involving the party leaders and BJP’s sole agenda now is to oust this corrupt government and BJP would now take to the streets to mobilize public opinion against these anti-people policies”
He said, “The BJP executive committee meeting has passed a political resolution expressing gratitude for the continuous assistance being provided to Himachal by the Central Government.”
Talking about the “Chester Hill Housing Project controversy he alleged the matter involves not only violation of Section 118 but also a case of a benami land transaction, a senior official, while serving as the Revenue Secretary openly misused his official position—a fact the Chief Minister was fully aware of.”
Taking a jibe at administrative contradictions, he remarked “While, on one hand, the Chief Secretary Issues orders prohibiting re-appointments and service extensions, on the other hand—on that very same day—an officer from the Chief Minister’s Office is granted a service extension.”
He further took a dig at the Chief Minister, noting that while the latter hesitates to acknowledge the Centre’s assistance on the floor of the House, the state had, in fact, received Rs 4,000 crore for developmental projects only after the Chief Minister met with the Prime Minister.
