MILKFED has developed immunity boosting milk with the brand name Him Haldi Dudh (Turmeric Latte), to strengthen immunity in COVID times.
The milk was formally launched by Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur from the state capital Shimla.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said, “Him Haldi Dudh has been developed by the bio- technology department of Punjabi University Patiala.
He said, “This drink has properties of detoxifying the human body and could be very useful as anti-hangover, anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory and immunity booster and hoped the drink would prove quite popular among people.”
Thakur said, “Under National Dairy Development Programme, the MILKFED transferred Rs 2000 as incentive into the bank accounts of 835 milk producers, besides giving five litre stainless steel cans to one thousand milk producers for collection and transportation of milk.”
Chief Minister said, “The State government has enhanced procurement price of milk twice in the state and at present milk is being procured at Rs 27.80 per litre from the producers and giving them many incentives.”
Thakur said, “MILKFED kept on working during the Lockdown period and carried procurement and distribution work to give relief to milk producers and consumers.”
Animal Husbandry Minister Virender Kanwar said ” Presently MILKFED is collecting 1.24 lakh litres milk per day.”
