The Satluz Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN) organized a tree plantation drive on Tuesday at Chamiyana , Shimla to observe the World Environment Day.
Director (Personnel) of SJVN Ajay Kumar Sharma said, “The programme was organized under the leadership of Chairman- cum- and Managing Director, Bhupender Gupta under ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam ‘programme for preserving the environment.
He stated, “As a testament to the collective commitment towards environmental conservation, 150 saplings of deodar, oak, walnut, pomegranate and other tree species were planted in inspire people and creating awareness action towards environmental protection”.
The plantation drive witnessed active participation from officials of 133 Infantry Battalion (TA) Eco Dogra, Himachal Pradesh state forest department and heads of departments, senior officials and employees of SJVN Corporate Headquarters, Shimla.
CVO, Pankaj Porwal and Lt. Col. Lakhwinder Singh of 133 Infantry Battalion (TA) Eco Dogra also participated in the plantation drive by and planted saplings as part of the tree plantation drive.
