
There seems to be no respite from the present spell of incessant rain in Himachal Pradesh as Indian Meteorology Department (IMD) Center Shimla has issued a Red Alert predicting heavy to very heavy rain in many parts of the state in the next 12 hours.
The IMD Center Shimla in its weather forecast issued on Sunday has predicted light to moderate rain and intense to very intense spells in Hamirpur, Sirmaur, Bilaspur, Una, Shimla and Solan districts.
Light to moderate rain at isolated places in Kullu, Mandi, Kinnaur, Lahaul-Spiti and Chamba districts.
The department has also warned of landslides and water logging at a few places.
Meanwhile Deputy Commissioner Mandi Apoorv Devgan has appealed to people to be alert and keep themselves safe in the wake of the rain alert.
He has warned not to go near rivers and nullahs and to avoid travel if not necessary and contact the telephone number : 1077 or 01905-226201, 226202, 226203, 226204 for help in case of emergency.
DC Shimla Anupam Kashyap has ordered to keep all schools and educational institution close on Monday in the light of rain alert .
