District Consumer Dispute Redressal Forum Shimla has ordered DTDC Courier Company to give a compensation of Rs 3000 to a Shimla resident, Ankur Thakur for not delivering a letter sent to him from Bathinda on his residential address of Shimla.

In his complaint made to the Forum, Ankur Thakur a resident of Vikasnagar had accused the DTDC of not delivering a letter sent by one Mohan deep Singh Sidhu on his residential address and instead forcing him to come to a medical store, one kilometer away from his residence to receive the letter.  

In its order the Forum held the courier company guilty of not providing services which Mohan deep Singh Sidhu had taken, by not delivering the letter on the residential address and causing harassment to the recipient of the letter.

The Forum has ordered the DTDC courier company to pay an amount of Rs 3000 as compensation to the complainant within 45 days for deficiency in service and unfair trade practice .
