The Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) Chandigarh has started a cashless service for the beneficiaries of HIM CARE card holders.

The cashless service was made functional on March 8 after a successful trial run of the service, said Prof. Vivek Lal, Director of the institute.

The PGIMER Chandigarh and HIMCARE have signed a MOU, a few weeks back, to provide cashless treatment to patients coming from Himachal to PGIMER having HIM CARE card.

The Director said, “This would streamline healthcare services and empower patients through the implementation of a cashless treatment initiative on the analogy of Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna, benefitting around 5000 patients from Himachal Pradesh on yearly basis.”

Deputy Director of the institute Pankaj Rai said, “Earlier, availing treatment through HIMCARE card was quite cumbersome and time consuming; however, now the beneficiary will have to submit only a copy of the HIM CARE card and cashless treatment would be provided.”
