Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla presided over the Army Mela organized at Annandale ground, Shimla on the Army day on Monday.

Lt. General Manjinder Singh, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Army Training Command (ARTRAC) Shimla welcomed the Governor on this occasion.

The Governor said,” The Army Day is an important occasion to pay homage to  indomitable spirit, unwavering commitment, and unparalleled sacrifices of the brave soldiers of the Indian Army;  it is a day to honor the valiant soldiers who defend our borders with courage, dedication, and selflessness and we recall their sacrifices in protecting sovereignty of our country on this day .”  

 He said, “Despite immense challenges faced by our Armed forces ranging from safeguarding our borders against external threats, aiding in disaster relief operations and countering threats from militants , our soldiers have proved their might in every field .”

The Kalaripayattu team of Madras Regiment also displayed their martial art skills,   a Gatka show, pipe band display and dog show was also organized on the occasion.
