Former Darang MLA Dina Nath Shashtri (85) passed away in his village Tandu on Monday afternoon.
He was elected MLA from Darang Assembly constituency in 1990 on BJP ticket by defeating Congress stalwart Kaul Singh Thakur. A school teacher by profession, Shashtri was quite active in trade union activities
His family sources said, “He felt uneasy today afternoon and was taken to Zonal hospital Mandi but Doctors declared him dead.”
He had contested the Assembly election as an Independent candidate in 1977 and later on tickets of different political parties but lost.
