( CM holding discussion with Union Forest Minister )

Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has advocated early forest clearance for speedy development in the state.

In a meeting with Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Bhupender Yadav in New Delhi on Monday the CM said, “Since many development projects are delayed for a long time for want of forest clearance but to turn the state into a Green Energy State by 2025 early forest clearance is of utmost importance for projects like heliports, green corridors etc.”

He said, “Due to tough terrain and geological condition construction of heliports would help in attracting tourists to the state and to provide emergency support during natural calamities.”

Urging the Union Minister for early forest clearance for pending development projects the CM said, “Since construction of roads, bridges, education institutions and ropeways are crucial for providing basis amenities in far flung areas of the state forest approval for such projects should be given at the earliest.”

The CM has also directed the forest officers of the state government to work in cohesion with the forest officers of the Union government for speeding up the forest clearance. Several government officers of the Central and the State government were present in the meeting.
