A marathon race was organised by medical students of Shri Lal Bahadur Shashtri Medical College, Nerchowk, under the aegis of the Global Association of Indian Medical Students, on World Health Day on Sunday, to raise drug awareness among youths.

The marathon race, in which hundreds of medical students and people from all walks of life participated, ran from the medical college in Nerchowk to Nagchala.

The marathon race was flagged off by the principal of the Nerchowk Medical College, Dr DK Verma, and prizes to the winner were given by Mandi MP Kangana Ranaut.

A spokesman of the Association said , “ A spirited Heal and Hustle Marathon was organised on April 6 on drug awareness among youth , in which medical college students, faculty members and health professionals participated to raise awareness among youths against use of drugs to spread a strong message – say no to drugs and say yes to life.”

Dr Pritish Bhadwaj, Dr Himanshu Kapoor, Dr Kartik Saini, Natyana Sharma, and Uday and Jashandeep Singh Kang played important roles in making the event a success, which concluded with a call for continued awareness, education, and collective action to safeguard the health and future of young minds.
