
Six people, including three children, sleeping in a house in Talangana village in Nauradhar area of Sirmaur district in Himachal Pradesh were burnt alive on Wednesday night.
As per information, “The fire was spotted at about 2 am in the house of Mohan Singh, where seven people were sleeping, the fire spread very fast and all victims, except one who was pulled out by the villagers, were burnt alive.”
The police said, “The lone survivor in the incident, Lokender Kumar stated that he along with wife and children had come to celebrate the Maghi festival to his in-laws house in the village, where his sister in –law and her husband had also come to celebrate the festival and all were sleeping when smoke was observed and loud sound of a blast was heard, engulfing the house in flames.”
As per preliminary finding, “The fire broke out from a LPG cylinder in the house.”
The fire was controlled with the help of villagers and fire tenders.
The Police said , “ The charred bodies of Naresh Kumar( 50), his wife Tripta Devi (44), her sister Kavita (36) and her three children – Kritika and Sarika ( both 13 years old) and 3 years old Kartik have been identified .”
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and other leaders have mourned the death of six people in the fire incident in Sirmaur district.
