Three persons died in Baragala village of Nihari tehsil in Mandi district after getting buried under debris, as their house collapsed due to landslides triggered by heavy rain  on Monday night .

Sub Divisional Magistrate Sunder Nagar Amar Negi said, “Five persons present in the house of Khoob Ram of village Baragla were buried last night, three persons

Tango Devi (64), Kamla Devi (33) and an 8 months old infant Bheem Singh died in the incident, however two persons i.e Khoob Ram and his wife Darshanu Devi were saved with the help of villagers.”

Deputy Commissioner Mandi Apoorv Devgan, who went to the incident site on Tuesday to take stock of the situation, had to walk with bare feet to the village as his both sleepers were buried in the mud on the way. 

In another incident two went missing last night in the Dharampur area after they were trapped in the gushing water of Son Khad.

About 20 buses of HRTC parked in Dharampur bus stand were also damaged as flood water of Son Khad inundated the bus stand.

Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri after visiting the area said, “A loss of approximately ten crores has been assessed as 20 buses parked in the bus stand have been damaged.”
