Three persons have lost their lives after landslides in Shimla district on Sunday night; two persons died near Junga and one lady died near Kotkhai .
As incessant rain continued in Shimla district along with other parts of the state Virender Kumar (35) and his daughter (10) died as a landslide hit their house in Mohal village near Junga. Both were buried under the slush.
In another incident a lady died in Chol village of Kotkhai on Sunday after a landslide.
Meanwhile Kiratpur –Manali National Highway remained blocked on Monday due to landslides at different places.
The Mandi- Kullu road via Pandoh is blocked near Jogni fall, Hanogi and Aut Bazaar and the road via Katuala – Kamand is also blocked due to landslides.
The traffic from Kullu to Manali also remained disrupted due to frequent landslides at different places.
The traffic on Mandi – Pathankot road also remained blocked between Mandi and Joginder Nagar on Monday due to landslides.
The National Highway Authority of India and district administration are making efforts to open the blocked highways.
