Kangana Ranaut , the actress turned Member of Parliament from Mandi (HP), was shown black flags and had to face angry youth congress workers, who raised slogans of “ go back you are late ‘, during her visit to disaster affected areas of Manali on Thursday .
The MP had come to visit the areas of Kullu – Manali, which are part of Mandi parliamentary constituency represented by BJP MP Kangana Ranaut, after the area faced massive damage to private and government property due to heavy rain during the monsoon season.
Since Kananga has also built a house and run a restaurant in Manali, residents were expecting her intervention in getting help from the state and the Central government for relief and restoration work, after facing huge losses and residents asked her –“why has she come as late as people needed her presence during their distress”?
When BJP workers accompanying the MP came in support of the MP the police had to intervene to pacify Youth Congress and BJP activists.
In a video which went viral on social media, Kangana Ranaut is seen saying, “Don’t attack me as if I am queen of England and doing nothing; I am my own bread winner and even I have been affected by natural disaster – my restaurant did a business of only Rs 50 yesterday while I am maintaining a big establishment by spending Rs 15 lakh.”
In another video, on being interrupted repeatedly by a local lady to tell her about the damage caused by disaster to her house, Kangana said, “Have you come to attack me or to question me? Don’t attack me; ask questions and just calm down, the Central government has given Rs 10000 crore to the state for relief and restoration.”
