Fearing a backlash from the state government employees over striking down of rule 7 A, from Himachal Pradesh Civil Services ( Revised Pay ), depriving thousands of employees from getting financial benefits after two years on getting regularized, the state government on Monday decided to keep the notification in abeyance following directions from Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.
The state government had issued a notification on September 6 to strike down the rule7 A under which the financial to employees was withdrawn, resulting in state- wide criticism from the employee’s bodies, as they feared different categories would get ten to fifteen thousand lesser pay after this decision .
To resent this decision thousands of state government employees observed a pen down strike in the state capital and other parts of the state. The HP secretariat employees also held protests at HP Secretariat and DC Office Shimla. They also met the CM in the secretariat demanding withdrawal of the notification.
The employee’s bodies throughout the state had also threatened to launch an agitation to protest the government action.
The CM assured the employees’ representatives to watch their interest and announced to keep the notification in abeyance.
