A girl and a boy fell into a gushing rivulet while crossing a makeshift bridge in Jhud village of Seraj area on Saturday.
Puja Thakur (26) and Tiveder Kumar (26) were crossing a makeshift bridge raised with wooden planks by locals , when Puja lost control and fell into the rivulet along with Tiveder holding her hand.
Both of them were pulled out of the gushing water with the help of villagers standing nearby to cross the bridge, and are stated to be fine.
Villagers have urged the state government to construct a pucca bridge on the rivulet. They said hundreds of villagers carrying essential items are crossing the bridge, besides school children also cross it daily endangering lives.
