A weeklong famous Mandi Shivratri festival would be organized from March 9 to 15 this year.
Deputy Commissioner Mandi Apporv Devgan after holding a meeting to review the arrangements with the officials said, “The Shivratri festival would be organized in a grand manner and preparation has already begun to make it a very successful event.”
He said, “The first Jaleb (Shobhayatra) of the Shivratri festival will be taken out on March 9, second on March 12 and last jaleb would be organized on March 15, six cultural evenings would be organized from March 9 to 14; as many as 216 deities are invited to attend the Shivratri festival,” he added
The Deputy Commissioner said that traditional art culture will be encouraged in the festival and emphasis would be on public awareness related activities of various departments and sub committees have been constituted for making all arrangements.
