Himachal Pradesh Government has appointed Dr D K Verma as new Vice Chancellor of Atal Medical and Research, University, Mandi.
Himachal Pradesh Governor Kavinder Gupta (Chancellor) issued a notification in this regard on Wednesday under Health Sciences Act-2017. His appointment has been made for the term of three years from the date of his joining
Born on December 8, 1959 Dr Verma hails from Shimla and did his early education from DAV School Lakkar, Bazaar, Shimla.
He did his MBBS, MD Pharmacology and MS (surgery) from Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC), Shimla. He served as Professor and Head of Department (HOD) of surgery in the IGMC and Nahan Medical College and is a renowned surgeon.
Dr Verma has also done a Commonwealth fellowship in Endo-Urology from Southampton, General Hospital, UK.
He also remained Principal of Lal Bahadur Shastri Medical College, Ner Chowk.
