The Himachal Pradesh High Court , which closely monitoring the news reports of illegal rave parties in Kasol and Parvati valley in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh, has ordered action against the Superintendent of Police (SP) Kullu district and local Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), recommending their transfer.  

The double bench of HP High court, headed by Chief Justice BS Sandhawalia and Justice Bipin Chander Negi had summoned a report from the District legal services Authority (DLSA) Kullu to conduct spot inspections of suspected rave party sites in Kasol and other places.

The court had also ordered the Deputy Commissioner (DC) and SP of Kullu to submit personal affidavits explaining the alleged lack of enforcement against organizers.

It is notable that the news reports of rave parties in Kasol and Parvati valley have been reported in the newspapers and on social media for quite some time.

As per reports rave parties were common in the area where a large number of foreign nationals including Indian citizens with the active support of locals, have been organizing rave parties amidst deep forests.

“High intoxicating narcotics drugs are reportedly freely being served in the rave parties illegally and e hundreds of semi-naked foreigner and Indian national danced on loud music the whole night on moonlight nights for which they were charged by organizers from Rs 10000 to Rs 15000 per person.”

After the district administration had failed to stop the illegal rave parties, the HP High Court had taken Suo –motto cognizance of illegal rave parties.
