Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu announced to withdraw the recent increase in state entry fee for vehicles entering Himachal Pradesh, after protests on borders of the state by residents from Punjab and Haryana recently, resenting the hike in entry fee.
Making an announcement in HP Vidhan Sabha on Tuesday during the Assembly Session, the CM stated, “The state government has rationalized the entry fee and old rates of Rs 70 for five seat vehicles and Rs 110 will be charged for 6 to 12 seat vehicles, instead of Rs 130 announced for the both categories.”
He said, “Some people were creating the confusion deliberately despite the fact the increase was nominal, moreover residents living within five kilometers of the entry point were to be provided special passes.”
