The Himachal Pradesh government has dismissed four CID personnel of the Special Task Force (STF) Kullu, from service after they were found involved in an LSD trafficking case registered in Shimla.
Four STF personnel from Himachal Pradesh Police -Head Constables Rajesh, Sameer, Nitesh, and Constable Ashok Kumar were arrested and suspended on March 16.after an inquiry about their involvement in allowing a drug trafficker to escape with a large consignment of LSD and MDMA in Kullu was established .
As per the inquiry the STF had intercepted a suspect on March 8 in Kullu with a consignment of contraband but the STF personnel did not arrest the culprit and scot him free without registering any case, proving their nexus with the drug smugglers.
The police departments also had conducted an inquiry against the STF personnel and found them guilty and have now been dismissed from the service.
A spokesman of the Police department said, “Himachal Pradesh Police department have a policy of zero tolerance of involvement of any staff member for collusion with drug smugglers and following this policy four STF personnel have been dismissed from the service; so far 21 police personnel have been dismissed from the service”, he added.
