Deputy Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Mukesh Agnihotri and Gagret MLA Rakesh Kalia (Congress) have been issued “death threats “through social media posts.

Both leaders hail from Una district and were issued the threats by using ‘scaring language and threats of use of sharp edged weapons ‘through a Facebook account, after which an FIR was registered by a Haroli resident Arun Kumar in Haroli Police Station on Thursday night.

As per the complainant , “ A Facebook post related to the recent arrest of notorious gangster Amrish Rana had attracted disturbing comments;  On June 19, a user named Dilip Kumar commented on the post saying  public is demanding swords again and a sharpshooter Nabiawala also commented,  ‘ This time it will be used on a politicians.”

Another user, Randeep Thakur, asked, “For what crime?” To this, Sharpshooter Nabaiwala replied, “Only the Deputy CM and MLA Rakesh Kalia know.”

Though, police are investigating the matter but it is being suspected, “The threats were issued to sharply react to the arrest of a notorious criminal Amrish Rana, who was recently arrested by police for his alleged involvement in cases of illicit mining.”

Rana was released from Una jail sometime back after serving 25 year’s sentence in several criminal cases.
