Himachal Pradesh High Court building at Shimla was evacuated on Monday morning after a warning of the presence of a human suicide bomber in the court premises.

On getting the information, Shimla Police and security forces swung into action and asked people to move away from the court premises.

SP Shimla said, “The police was informed about the threat in the morning, after which security forces were deployed; DIG Southern Range Anjum Aara, along with other senior officers, rushed to the spot, besides the deployment of bomb squads and quick response teams.”

“The High Court premises were evacuated to ensure the safety of judges, court staff, lawyers, and the general public; a thorough search operation was started; however, after four hours of searching, nothing suspicious or any explosive was found in the building,” he added.

The situation returned to normal in the late afternoon.
