In a relief to Himachal Pradesh government the HP High Court has allowed the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) to run its 9 hotels till March 31, 2025, amending its earlier order to close operation of 18 HPTDC hotels.
In an order passed by a double bench of the HP High Court headed by Justice Vivek Singh Thakur and Justice Rakesh Kainthla on Monday, stayed the earlier order by a single bench issued on November 19 to close down and stop operation of 18 hotels of the HPTDC due to low occupancy and perennial losses incurred by November 25.
The High Court has already allowed operating nine hotels of the HPTDC on the plea of the tourism corporation as advance booking had been made by customers for wedding and other functions in the hotels.
The High Court bench also allowed the HPTDC to run other nine hotels too till March 3, 2025, today.
The HPTDC hotels ordered to stop operation by the single bench of the High Court are Geetanjali (Dalhousie), Bhaghal hotel(Darlaghat), Kunal, Dhauladhar and Kashmir house ( (Dharamshala) , Apple Blossom (Fagu), Girignaga (Kharapathar), Sarwari (Kulu), Hadimba cottage, Log Huts and Kunjam (Manali), Shivalik (Parwanoo), Palace hotel (Chail), Hotel Chanderbhaga (Keylong), Hotel Devdar (Khajiar), ,Hotel Meghdoot (Kiarighat), Hotel Bhagsu (Mcleodganj) and Hotel The Castle (Naggar).
After today’s court order the HPTDC has been allowed to run all the 18 hotels till March 31, 2025.
