On the call of CITU State Committee Himachal Pradesh, huge demonstrations were held at the district and block headquarters against the anti-labour, farmer, employee and public policies of the Modi government at the centre and highlight the demands of the workers.
CITU State President Vijendra Mehra and General Secretary Prem Gautam said, “Thousands of workers and anganwadi workers participated in the demonstrations held across the state at the DC office Shimla, Hamirpur, Mandi, Kullu and other places.”
They said, “The protests were organized to demand abolition of four anti-labour codes, demanding salary hike for anganwadi, Mid Day Meal and Asha workers, timely payment of salary every month, and demanding minimum salary of workers Rs 26,000 per month, besides other demands.”
The issue of restoration of financial benefits and registration facility from the Labour Welfare Board of MNREGA and construction workers, implementing labour laws within the scope of sales promotion employees, implementing statutory rules for their work, ensuring unhindered entry of medical representatives in hospitals was also raised through the demonstrations.
