Though the intervention of Congress High Command to contain discontentment among a section of the party MLAs and state Congress leaders had brought semblance of a united face of Congress government in the state, however worries continue.
The defeat of Congress candidate Abhishek Manu Singhvi in Rajya Sabha election had brought the discontentment among party leaders in the open as six rebel Congress MLAs cross voted, enabling BJP candidate Harsh Mahajan to win the Rajya Sabha seat from Himachal.

The Cabinet Ministers Education Minister Rohit Thakur and Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi left the Cabinet Meeting chaired by the CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu in a huff on Saturday creating a flutter.
Sources said, “The ministers left the meeting after hot discussion.”
Education Minister Rohit Thakur was brought back to the meeting by Deputy CM Mukesh Agnihotri, however Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi said he had some other appointment as the meeting had commenced late.
The Congress Rebel MLA, disqualified from membership of HP Vidhan Sabha, Rajender Rana also continued his tirade against Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu government on Saturday.
In a statement released from Chandigarh Rana said, “Nine more party MLAs are feeling suffocated in the Congress government by the style of functioning of the CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, are in our contact.”
Meanwhile, the state government announced to enhance DA of state government employees by 4 percent and will be paid in cash from April 1, 2024; the state Cabinet also gave approval to engage 1000 multi task workers in Animal Husbandry Department.
