Six passengers travelling in a pickup jeep died and six others injured in a road accident near Kadarghat (Jalog) on Shimla – Mandi road at about 7 am on Monday.
The pickup jeep (HP63-0231) carrying 12 workers was coming from Sunni to Mandi when the driver of the vehicle lost veering off the road and fell into a gorge near Kadarghat.
A police source said, “Three passengers died on the spot and three others died later, six injured in the accident were taken to nearby health center; the deceased have been identified as Gulam Hasan Godse son of Jalaldeen, Shamir son of Bashir, Farid Ahmad son of Gulam, Guljar son of Bashir, Musthaq son of Gulam ( all hailing from village Balgetu in Kulgam district of Jammu & Kashmir) and Talib son of Sharif of Karthal village of Kulgam district in J&K.”
The workers who have been injured are : Ranjit Singh of Kadog village ( Sunni Tehsil ,HP) ), Aslam , Talib , Manjur Ahmad ( all from J&K) , Akash Kumar of Vikasnagar (Uttrakhand) and Ajay Thakur of Kangu village near Sundernagar.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has expressed grief over the death of the six passengers and directed local ministration to provide every help to the victims.
