The Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted by the state government to investigate crypto currency frauds in Himachal Pradesh, have arrested two accused Hem Raj Rajput and Sukhdev Thakur belonging to Mandi district, from Gujarat two days back.
The accused are allegedly involved in collecting nearly Rs 18 crore in crypto currency frauds and deceiving innocent investors of Palampur. Both the accused had been evading arrest for quite some time and were hiding in Gujarat, but were arrested by the SIT with the help of Gujarat Police.
The issue of crypto currency frauds had also been raised by Dehra MLA Hoshiar Singh during the monsoon session of Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha after which the state government had constituted a 13 member SIT headed by DIG Northern Range Abhishek Dullar .
Several cases of crypto currency frauds have been reported in the state during the past few months and many complaints in this regard are registered in different police stations of the state.
