Popular poet and thinker Padamshri Prof. Ashok Chakradhar said Hindi language faces no threat to it in future and would grow further.
Addressing audience at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandy auditorium on Monday in a Kava Sandhya hosted by Hindi Cell of the institute as a part of Rajbhasha Pakhwara, Prof. Chakradhara said , “ Despite onslaught on Hindi it has survived vicissitude and assimilated several words of English , Urdu , Punjabi and other regional languages to make it more popular and acceptable .”
Prof. Chakradhar said , “ This quality of the Hindi language would always take it further and it has a bright future and move on; the technological advancement with tools like Google , which can translate Hindi into so many Indian and foreign languages has made the use of Hindi easier and it will keep growing .”
He said, “Though Hindi is not the mother tongue of a large number of Indians, it is definitely our Rajbhasha as it is used by the majority of people.”
Prof. Chakradhar also regaled the audience with his wit and humour through his satire on politics and society .
Lyricist and poet Dr Om Prakash Nishchal and Dr. Deepak also presented their poems on the occasion. Dr Saumya Malaviya, coordinator of Hindi cell in his thanks giving speech, appealed the IIT students and faculty members to render their support in coming events and thanked the guests.
Earlier, Prof. Chakrdhar and Dr Nishchal were felicitated by the Registrar of the institute Dr. Satinder Sharma.
