The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Himachal Pradesh Police has filed second charge sheet against 61 accused in the police constable paper leak case in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Shimla on Thursday in the FIR filed at Shimla.
The Director General of Police Sanjay Kundu said, “Twenty-one touts from different districts of the state have been charged for leaking the police recruitment test paper, three parents of the candidates and 37 candidates appearing in the test have been made accused in the case.”
The police had registered two FIRs in police constable paper leak case at Gaggal Police Station and CID Police Station Bharari (Shimla).
The police had filed a charge sheet against 91 people on July 2 in the FIR registered in this connection in Gaggal police station in the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Kangra.
The Director General of Police Sanjay Kundu said, “As many as 171 people were arrested from ten states including Himachal including 116 candidates, 9 parents of the candidates and 21 agents from Himachal.”
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur had cancelled the police constable recruitment test held in March after reports of paper leak and handed over the investigation to CBI but the agency has not started its investigation yet.
The constable recruitment test was conducted again on July 3 throughout the state.
