Former Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) M Nageshwar Rao and two former IPS officers of Himachal cadre have demanded transfer of probe against IPS officer Arvind Digvijay Negi to CBI.
Negi had recently been arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) where he worked for several years for allegation of supplying secret information to a over ground worker linked with the terrorist organization Lashkar –e- Toiba (LeT).
Former CBI Director M Nageshwar Rao has demanded transfer of probe against Negi from the NIA to CBI.
In a tweet Rao said, “Since the parent case in this matter was investigated by the NIA organizational malice and partisan action cannot be ruled out.”
Rao has tagged Prime Minister Narender Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and IPS Officers Association.
Former HP cadre IG rank IPS officers Ashok Sharma and OC Thakur have also demanded thorough probe by the CBI to bring out the truth. Negi has worked with both these officers in different cases.
Sharma said, “ Arvind Negi worked with me and I never had any doubt about his professional integrity ; I may be wrong but I am well aware of planting and framing cases in investigating agencies.”
Thakur with whom Negi worked to investigates HP PMT paper leak case said, “There should be a parallel an free agency probe in this case.”
It is notable, “Conspiracy theory is also doing rounds in Negi’s arrest by the NIA”.
