Bhumi Adhigrahan Prabhavit Sangh has warned the state government to implement the land Acquisition Act 2013 and pay times compensation to evacuees, whose land has been acquired for widening of roads and projects.
Talking to media persons at Mandi on Monday President of the Sangh BR Kaundal and Coordinator Joginder Walia said, “ The state government is not implementing the Land Acquisition Act despite the Modi government’s decision to pay four times compensation to people for their lands acquired for the projects .”
They said, “The state government has constituted a committee to look into the matte but the committee has failed to convene its meeting so far.”
The leaders said, “Even BJP’s manifesto released during the last Assembly elections had promised fair compensation to farmers whose lands have been acquired for different projects.”
They warned, “If the meeting of the committee is not held by February 28 they would intensify their agitation and launch protest against the committee members in their Assembly Constituencies.”
