Education Minister Govind Thakur said, “Notification to open the second university of the state in Mandi would be issued this month.”
Talking to media persons here on Thursday the minister said , “ The credit for opening this university goes to Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur as he has been pursuing the case of opening the University at Mandi vigorously and this would benefit the people of this entire region .”
He said, “The process to fill up 4000 posts of teachers of different categories in the education department has been initiated and posts will be filled soon.”
Terming the Union Budget as historic the minister said, “This budget is dedicated to welfare of every section and would usher in development in the country; the Modi government has increased the Central assistance to the states by ten times and even Himachal would get Rs six thousand crores for infrastructure development.”
“While the vibrant village scheme announced in the budget would give a new impetus to development of border villages, the state would also be benefited by the Parvatmala scheme”, he added .
The Education Minister also highlighted the achievements of the Jai Ram Thakur government during the past four years and talked about various schemes launched for the welfare of different sections of the society.
The minister was accompanied by MLAs Inder Singh Gandhi and Vinod Kumar. Mayor of MC Mandi Deepali Jaswal was also present on this occasion.
