All four persons infected by COVID – 19 admitted in Shri Lal Bahadur Shashtri Medical College (SLBSMC) Nerchowk hospital have been discharged and sent back to their home district after they tested negative for the virus after their treatment in the hospital.
Three of these patients had already tested negative in the repeat test carried on them about a week ago and the fourth one who was tested positive in the earlier test, has now also tested negative in his test carried on April 27.
All four persons were brought here on April 7 from Tissa area of Chamba district as SLBSMC has been made COVID hospital of the state. All of them had tested posited for COVID – 19 after attending Tablighi Zamaat Mazar at Nizamuddin, New Delhi.
The samples of these patients were sent for repeat test about two weeks back and samples of three of these were found to be negative but fourth had tested positive.
The sample of the fourth person was again taken on April 25 and sent to IGMC Shimla and in this test he has also tested negative for the virus.
Medical Superintendent of the SLBSMC hospital Dr Devinder Sharma said, “The samples of all four patients admitted in the isolation ward of the hospital were sent for repeat testing to laboratory and now all of these have tested negative for the virus.”
He said , “ After their treatment in the hospital their recovery has been confirmed in the repeat tests and as per the guidelines of the state government they were sent to their home district last night and would remain in home quarantine for fourteen days there .”
The hospital authorities are quite relieved as their staff performed their duty so well and the patients also cooperated during their treatment in the isolation ward of the hospital.
Meanwhile, the SLBSMC has been granted permission by ICMR to conduct RT – PCR tests in the hospital.
