Three tourists, who fell in the Parvati river near Manikaran Gurudwara on Tuesday, had a narrow escape after locals and a rescue team pulled them out from the gushing water.

As per an information, “The incident occurred on Tuesday when three members of a family (husband, wife and a child), who had come to visit the Maikaran Gurudwara, went to click a photograph on the banks of the river.”

“ In their effort to get clicked near the water they lost balance and fell into the gushing water of the river;  luckily a few locals spotted the family falling in the river and pulled them out of the river with the help of a rescue team  ; all three are stated to be safe.”

A local resident said, “Due to ongoing construction work on the river the water has been stopped and diverted, otherwise the flow of water is very strong here.”

The Kullu district administration has been issuing warnings to tourists and locals not to venture near rivers and water streams as depth and flow of water is unpredictable in the hills and any adventure can prove fatal ; but still many tourists have been ignoring  the advice resulting in accidents .
