
Himachal Pradesh’s PWD and Urban Development Minister, Vikrmaditya Singh launches a campaign in favour of Congress candidates for the Mandi Municipal Corporation election at Mandi on Friday.
Talking to media persons here on Friday Vikramaditya Singh said , “ Development of Mandi will be our main election plank in the election and Congress is committed to carry out the overall development of Mandi town with focus on improving basic amenities and creating infrastructure in the town and surrounding areas.”
He said, “The Congress party has fielded best candidates with good political and social background, and I being in-charge of the election will make every effort to ensure victory of Congress candidate; all Congress leaders including Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, central leaders of the party, former Ministers Kaul Singh Thakur, Prakash Chaudhary, leaders from Mandi districts and Congress activists would participate in the campaign vigorously “, he added.
Vikrmaditya Singh said, “The Congress party has been raising all development related issues of Mandi town during all these years and Rs 180 crore projects have been sanctioned, projects worth Rs 1200 crore have been recently sanctioned by Union Ministry of Urban Development, besides Indira Market project to improve sewerage system to facilitate shopkeepers and general public will be started after the election,” he stated.
Releasing a commitment paper for Mandi Municipal Corporation in the presence of all candidates for Mandi Municipal Corporation, Mr Singh said, “The Congress party is committed to work for improving transportation system, construct a 20 km long covered canopy walk around Mandi town, renew the bus stand with an estimated amount of Rs 25 crore, construct a bailey bridge to Trilokinath temple, create parking facilities etc.
