Three persons were killed and two others injured in a road accident near Ner -Chowk on Monday night when a car coming from Mandi to Sunder Nagar hit a hydra machine parked on the road.

Assistant Sub Inspector of Police from Balh Police station, Surender Pal said, “The accident occurred at about 10.40 pm last night when driver of car no HP82-8322 in which five persons were travelling, lost control over the vehicle and hit a hydra machine parked on the highway near Nishant hotel, Ner Chowk on Mandi – Sunder Nagar road.”

“ Three person identified as Anil Kumar (28), Subhash Kumar (35), both residents  of Palahi village (under  Sunder Nagar sub division) and  Rohit Kumar (26) resident of Andretta village in Mandi district succumbed to injuries and two other occupants of the car – Harish alias Sunny of Badmah village and Pankaj Kumar of Palahi were seriously injured in the accident , who were referred to All India Institute of Medical Sciences ( AIIMS) Bilaspur ,  he added.

The police immediately reached the spot of accident after getting the information and took all injured to Ner Chowk Medical College Ner Chowk. A case has been registered at Balh Police station. 

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has expressed grief over the loss of three lives in the accident.
