Himachal  Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu blamed the previous BJP government for the financial debt in the state as it failed to maintain the financial discipline in the state despite getting Rs 70000 crore  aid from the Central government, in its last tenure; if my government had received this much money the state would have been debt free.”

Addressing a public meeting at Diyargi under Nachan Assembly constituency in Mandi district on Friday the CM said, “The previous BJP government received Rs 54,000 crore in RDGs and Rs 16,000 crore under GST compensation in five years during the last term and if former Chief Minister had maintained fiscal discipline, the debt of the state could have been reduced by Rs 30,000 crore.”

The CM said, “The 16th Finance Commission had denied the people of Himachal Pradesh’s right to receive Rs 10,000 crore in Revenue Deficit Grants (RDG) but still we paid 14 percent DA and arrears to pensioners over the age of 70.”

He said, “BJP won nine seats in Mandi district and the CM was also from Mandi district but they did not improve the condition of Nerchowk Medical College but we have started robotic surgery in Nerchowk Medical College today.”

The CM said , “ The  old pension scheme ( OPS) will never be discontinued in Himachal Pradesh as being the son of a former government employee I will never allow it and our government is committed to pay all arrears of the employees and pensioners.”

Earlier, the CM also inaugurated several development projects in the area.
