The Communist Party of India –Marxist (CPM) has demanded a thorough probe over alleged involvement of the Chief Secretary of Himachal Pradesh government in ‘ The Chester Hill land scam at Sloan ‘.
In a press conference jointly addressed by CPM leaders- Sanjay Chauhan , former CPM MLA Rakesh Singha, Dr Kuldeep Tanwar and Vijedner Mehra at Shimla on Monday alleged , “ A land deal at Chester Hill measuring 275 bigha amounting to hundred of crore has taken place in which HP Chief Secretary has been allegedly involved.”
Demanding action in the matter, the CPM leaders said, “If this matter is investigated with due seriousness, the scope of the Chester Hill scam in Solan will extend to Shimla city, revealing itself to be a massive scandal.”
The party has asked “The state government to constitute a SIT to probe the alleged scam and remove the CS from the post till pending of the inquiry; besides registration of FIR in the matter”.
The CPM alleged , “ Currently, a nexus comprising land mafias, real estate mafias, and high-ranking officials is active in the state; they are illegally encroaching upon the rights of the state’s residents—specifically regarding water, forests, and land—to maximize their own profits”.
The CPM has also threatened to launch a statewide agitation if this scam is not thoroughly probed and action taken against the culprits in the case.
